Overview of the Role 🔍

Supervise and coordinate the resort’s maintenance operations, ensuring the proper upkeep of facilities and equipment, timely completion of maintenance works, and compliance with quality and safety standards, while managing team performance, resources, and departmental efficiency.

Key Responsibilities 📋

• Assist the Superior in conducting performance appraisals, identifying training needs, and recommending promotions.

• Coach team members, conduct on-the-job training, and follow up on the induction of new recruits.

• Ensure team discipline and report disciplinary issues to the Superior and/or HR Manager.

• Promote team members’ welfare, safety, and professional development.

• Supervise the daily maintenance and repair operations of the resort, including electrical and mechanical works.

• Ensure the effective implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance programmes and follow up on maintenance requests.

• Conduct regular inspections and ensure maintenance works are carried out in accordance with established checklists.

• Regularly test fire prevention and protection systems to ensure proper functioning.

• Advise the General Manager/Resort Manager on refurbishment and rebuilding requirements.

• Prepare duty rosters to ensure adequate departmental coverage while minimising overtime costs.

• Monitor punctuality and absenteeism, implement corrective actions, and ensure proper annual leave planning.

• Monitor maintenance stores and ensure spare parts are ordered in advance to maintain par stock levels.

• Supervise contractors and control additional works.

• Ensure maintenance paperwork, logbooks, and checklists are kept up to date.

• Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System, Health & Safety regulations, and established policies.

• Promote safe working practices and ensure that team members operate in accordance with applicable safety requirements.

• Ensure maintenance equipment, tools, and working areas are properly maintained and safe.

• Coordinate and supervise departmental activities to ensure efficient operations and a professional, welcoming image.

• Follow up on guest complaints relating to maintenance and ensure appropriate corrective actions.

• Contribute to refurbishment and maintenance projects and ensure quality service delivery.

Ideal Candidate Profile 🎯

•    Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering, or a related field.

•    Knowledge of maintenance management practices, health and safety regulations and quality standards.

•    Strong leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.               

•    Previous experience in resort or hotel maintenance, preferably in a supervisory role.

•    Experience in coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, electrical and mechanical works, and contractor activities.

Experience in team supervision, maintenance planning, inventory control and compliance with safety standards.
